NEW DELHI: Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad is expected to highlight the government’s initiatives like ‘Digital India’ and ‘Jan Dhan’ accounts when he addresses the Commonwealth Law Ministers meeting in the Bahamas next week.
He is also likely to talk about the benefits of digital inclusion, using the Narendra Modi-led government’s initiative of direct transfer of benefits and the opening of 300 million ‘Jan Dhan’ accounts.
Through direct transfer of benefits, the government claims to have saved Rs 8,000 crore, which earlier was being lost to corruption.
