Cricket fans who were earlier disappointed after Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) expressed inability to host India-New Zealand T20 match at Barabati Stadium here citing Baliyatra beginning on the same day, have reason to rejoice as the iconic stadium has got another match to host instead.
Official sources said Barabati will host India-Sri Lanka T20 match on December 20.
Confirming the news, OCA working president Dhiren Palai said the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has allotted India-Sri Lanka T20 considering our request to cancel the earlier match.
Citing security issues as the historic Baliyatra will be beginning on November 4, OCA had informed BCCI to cancel the India-New Zealand match and allot another match either before or after the week-long trade fair.
