NEW 12-STOREYED BUILDING OFFICE FOR BMC IN ODISHA CAPITAL SOON.

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) is going to get its 12-storeyed new office building at Janpath in the city.

While construction work will start in January, the office will be commissioned in two and half years, informed Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Facebook.

BMC Commissioner Krishan Kumar yesterday presented the architectural design of the new building before the CM.

As per the presentation, four acres of land has been identified at Unit-9 here and the building will be constructed on 2.5 acres.




Besides space for parking, there will be specified area for people to stage dharna in front of the office.

According to BMC sources, first floor will consist of mayor's office, 2nd floor will be used for commissioner and deputy commissioner's office, 3rd and 4th for Smart City Bhubaneswar Integrated City Operation and Management Centre, 5th and 6th for BMC office and 7th and 8th for all offices of Smart City Bhubaneswar. Rest floors will be left for future expansions.

The building will be equipped with four lifts, sources added.

"This iconic building is envisaged to be a smart office incorporating intelligent operations and management centre which will be the cornerstone of the transformation of Bhubaneswar," the CM wrote on Facebook.
