CHILIKA LAKE : The Union Ministry of road transport and highways has started surveying the 500 km long coastal highway from Gopalpur of odisha to Digha of West Bengal, which would give a boot to coastal economy and tourism.
If the project is finally decided to be taken up, 4 km long bridge near Cuttack is the longest bridge in odisha till now.
Nitik Gadkari, Union Minister of road transport and highways, had announced the road project last year.the road is expected to improve connectivity along the coast and harness enormous tourism potential. Odisha has 480 km long coastline along the Bay of Bengal on its east. the costal highways. Apart from helping improve road connectivity.
