10 MOST BEAUTIFUL WATERFALLS IN ODISHA.


Odisha is a place of beautiful beaches, a lot’s of temples and exotic wildlife sanctuaries, and also a lot of waterfalls included in the list. Almost all district in Odisha have one or more waterfall, so let’s know the major top 10 most beautiful waterfalls in Odisha.
1.KHANDADHAR 
Khandadhar waterfall is located at Nandapani,  in Sundergarh district. The height of the fall is 225 meters. It is the highest waterfall in the state. The magnificent sight of the waterfall makes it a great picnic spot. The spot is 114km. from Rourkela & 280 km distance from the state capital Bhubaneswar.



2. JORNADA
Jorandawater fall is located in the heart area of the Similipal National park, meters in Mayurbhanj district. The height of the fall meters (450ft.) making it 19th highest waterfall in India. The spot is 280km. away from Bhubaneswar.

 
3.BADAGHARA
This fall is on Ghagara river, in Keonjhar district. The 60-meter fall is 10kms from keonjhar. Another waterfall Sana ghagra 5km away from keonjhar. This two are the most popular picnic spot in Odisha. Another picnic spot is Gonasika which is 45 km away from keonjhar. This one is the place where the Baitarni river goes underground.

4.NRUSINGHANATH
This place is located in the sacred hills of Gandhamardana mountain, in Bargarh district, enshrines the temple of Nrusimhanath. Bhimadhar, Gadadhar, Guptadhar, Chaladhar are some beautiful location in nrusinghanath.Besides the waterfalls, there are ancient archaeological remains present in the area. The spot is only km from Nuapada.

 
5.HARISANKAR
On the southern side of the Gandhamardana mountain harisnkar is located with a series of the waterfall. The walk over the hilltop from harisankar to nrusinghanath is 16km in which travelers can go from harisankar to nrusinghanath. The culture of this place is enriched by Buddhist.According to Chinese scholar Hiuen Tsang, it is the seat of a Buddhist university called Po-Lo-Mo–ki-Li.

6.PHURLIJHARAN
The 16metres high waterfall is 15km. away from Bhawanipatana. The multicolored rainbows created by the sun rays falling in the water of the fall create the special charm of its own

7.PRADHANPAT
Pradhanpat waterfall is located in Deogarh district and 96km away from Sambalpur on NH-6 route. The waterfall has the first hydroelectric power unit in the state.
8.DUMDUMA ( MACHHKUNDA )
Dumduma is a charming waterfall on the river of machhkunda, this spot is 70 km away from the Jeypor city in Koraput district. The height of the waterfall is 155 meters, making it one of the favorite picnic spot in south Odisha.

9.BARHEIPANI
Barheipani waterfall is situated on the river of Burhabalanga in the Megha Sana mountain of the Mouyrbhanj district.

10.DEVKUNDA
Devkund Waterfall is located in Similipal Tiger Reserve,  series of beautiful waterfalls and the holy place goddess Ambika makes it a beautiful tourist picnic spot. It is situated at a distance of 65 km’s from Baripada district and 229 km from Bhubaneswar. Every year festivals like Raja and Makar Sankranti are celebrated here.
