Bhubaneswar: Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan today launched the Piped Natural Gas (PNG) supply project under Centre’s flagship ‘Pradhan Mantri Urja Ganga’ (PMUG) scheme in Odisha today.
With this, the Gas (India) Limited (GAIL) started supply of environment-friendly PNG to 255 houses in Nalco Nagar located at Chandorasekharpur area in state capital Bhubaneswar under the City Gas Distribution (CGD) project.
CGD projects in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack are being taken up concurrently with the Jagdishpur – Haldia & Bokaro – Dhamra Natural Gas Pipeline (JHBDPL) project under the PMUG scheme.
Odisha will be the biggest beneficiary of the MPUG project which aims to cover the longest stretch spanning 769 km covering 13 districts across the state. The total budget of the project is 4000cr.
