‘Nayak Sir’ From Odisha Gets Praised by Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi

PM Narendra Modi praised Silu Nayak, a 28-year-old from Odisha’s Jagatsinhpur district, in his monthly radio address ‘Mann ki Baat’ on Sunday. Silu Nayak, also known as ‘Nayak Sir,’ offers free training to young people interested in joining the security forces.

Silu Nayak had applied for the Odisha Industrial Security Force (OISF), an arm of the Odisha Police, in 2016, and had passed the written examination and interview. He pulled out of the physical assessment, saying he would not be able to pass the stringent examinations due to his lack of previous physical fitness.

Following the failure of hundreds of other aspirants to pass the physical test, Nayak vowed to prepare aspirants for the armed forces physically and mentally. He also made the decision not to bill for his services.

P. M Shri Narendra Modi said, “In reality, he is a man on a mission, he provides free training to the youth from his village and nearby areas for the physical and written tests. The name of the organization of Nayak Sir is Mahaguru Battalion. The training touches upon all the aspects from physical fitness to interviews and writing to training. You will be surprised to know that the people this organization has trained have secured their places in uniformed forces such as the Army, Navy, Air Force, CRPF, and BSF.” Shri. Modi said.

Hats off to Mr. Silu Nayak, he is a true source of inspiration for many people. India is great because of such selfless people who despite of their own challenges in life try to help uplift other’s life in whatever way they can.
